Pool Deck Options in Lake Havasu City

Most Lake Havasu pool decks end up with one of three surfaces. Here is how RevaFlex rubber, cool deck coatings, and pavers compare, and what a RevaFlex deck costs.

The three surfaces you will hear about

RevaFlex is a layer of colored rubber granules bound in resin and troweled over the concrete you already have. It has a textured, non-glazed finish that grips when wet and gives a little underfoot. The color is in the granules themselves, so there is no paint layer to wear through.

Cool deck coatings are thin, textured, cement-based finishes applied over concrete. They are a familiar sight on Arizona pool decks, and many people know them as Kool Deck after one well-known brand. Because a coating is bonded tightly to the slab, cracks that open in the concrete tend to show through, and the surface is usually resealed or recoated as it wears.

Pavers are individual concrete or stone units set on a compacted base. They come in a wide range of looks, and a damaged paver can be swapped out on its own. Moving an existing concrete deck to pavers usually means demolition and hauling first, and the joints need occasional sand and weed control.

What a RevaFlex pool deck costs

Most RevaFlex projects in Lake Havasu run $14 to $24 per square foot. Where yours lands depends on the size of the deck, the condition of the concrete, and any borders, patterns, or logos you add.

Because RevaFlex goes over the existing slab, there is no demolition or hauling line on the estimate. In most conditions the deck is back in use in about 24 to 48 hours. Concrete with cracks that are still moving needs repair first, and we will tell you if yours does.

The quickest way to a real number is to send a few photos and a rough size. You can also read more about RevaFlex pool deck resurfacing in Lake Havasu.

Which one fits your deck

  • If the concrete is sound and you want something softer and grippier underfoot without tearing anything out, RevaFlex is built for that.
  • If you like the classic look of a coated deck and are comfortable recoating it over the years, a cool deck coating is a common choice.
  • If you are rebuilding the deck anyway and want a stone look, pavers are worth pricing.

Questions

Pool deck questions

Why is there no demolition cost in a RevaFlex estimate?

Because nothing gets torn out. RevaFlex goes over the concrete deck you already have, so the estimate covers prep and the new surface, typically $14 to $24 per square foot, with no hauling or new pour.

Can RevaFlex go over an existing cool deck coating?

Often, yes. What matters is the concrete underneath and how well the old coating is still bonded. Loose or flaking coating gets removed in prep. Send photos with your estimate request and we will tell you what your deck needs.

Which surface stays coolest in the summer?

Every outdoor surface in Lake Havasu gets hot in full sun. Color makes the biggest difference: lighter colors take on less heat than darker ones, whichever surface you choose. For RevaFlex we can pass specific temperature questions to the manufacturer.

Do I have to tear out my old deck to get a new surface?

Not for RevaFlex or a coating, as long as the slab is sound. Both go over the concrete you have. Switching to pavers usually means removing the old deck first, or building the new surface up on top of it.
