What RevaFlex is
RevaFlex starts as small EPDM rubber granules. On site, they are mixed with a specially formulated resin. The crew spreads the mix over the prepared surface and trowels it smooth by hand. The finished surface is seamless, without the control joints that concrete is poured with.
The color comes from the granules themselves rather than from a paint layer on top.
What it goes over
RevaFlex bonds to concrete, asphalt, wood, and compacted crushed stone. The most common starting point is an existing concrete pool deck, patio, or walkway.
Compacted crushed stone is an option where there is no slab at all. That can let us build a surfaced area around a pool or out in the yard without pouring new concrete first.
Preparing the surface
Cleaning and priming. The existing surface is cleaned and primed so the new layer bonds to sound material.
Crack check. Stable hairline cracks are handled in prep. Cracks that are still moving get repaired before anything goes on top.
Edges. Where the surface stops at a wall or pool coping, it finishes clean against it. Where it meets gravel or desert landscaping, the edge takes extra prep, and we go over the options with you before the job starts.
Drains and thresholds. These are checked, and ground down where needed, so the new surface sits flush and water still runs where it should.
Mixing and troweling
A typical residential crew is two installers and one mixer. The mixer keeps batches of granules and resin coming while the installers spread and trowel. Crew size grows with the size of the job.
In most conditions the surface is usable in about 24 to 48 hours.
Colors and custom work
The standard range has 13 color mixes and 13 solid colors, and custom mixes are available on request. Borders, logos, and patterns can be added during the cure window.
In full sun, a lighter blend stays more comfortable than a dark one. A contrasting border is a simple way to outline a pool or frame a patio.

Care and upkeep
Sweep off loose debris and rinse it with a hose. For a deeper cleaning, use mild soap. There is no sealer to reapply every year.
